Catherine Contour
France
From dance, her main anchor, Catherine Contour has never ceased to explore the body, the danced gesture in its poetic and political dimensions, the mechanisms of connection, by weaving subtle links with places and environments. Since 2002, she has been passionate about the artistic and educational possibilities of the hypnotic technique. She designs the hypnotic tool for creation and choreographic practice Danser brut in collaboration with a team of artists and teacher-researchers within the Bains laboratory.
From dance to gardens, from the art of the siesta to the tea ceremony, from photography to ceramics, from film to hypnosis, she transforms these experiences into objects or "rituals" offering a shift towards fantasy and the imaginary. His creations in various formats offer ways of living where choreographic figures can be deployed and ways of being together that intensify the presence in the world.
Mathieu Bouvier and Emma Bigé are familiar with the work of Catherine Contour, having collaborated with her on various occasions. Julie Perrin and Alice Godfroy are also invested in research around the tools developed by Catherine Contour.
